Trekking in the Lake District

Late summer brings quieter trails, autumn colours and clear, crisp days – perfect for the legendary five-day Nahuel Huapi Traverse. While hiking is good from late October, we prefer February and March. The gems on these trails includes crystal blue lakes, granite spires, charming mountain huts and high alpine passes.

We’ve altered the traditional route slightly to allow for more solitude, a closer look at the area’s towering volcano, Mt. Tronador and will finish in the lush valley at Pampa Linda.

Extend the trip with an ascent of Mt. Tronador.

Trekking in the Deep South

The El Chaltén area of Glaciers National Park is without doubt Argentina’s best trekking destination. With long, lush valleys and tall needle-like granite spires, including Monte Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, there are endless opportunities for both day-trekking and overnight backpacking trips.

Ten-days of trekking in Southern Patagonia is the stuff hiking dreams are made of!

We also offer treks in Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park and treks in Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Mountaineering

Monte Tronador, at 3554 meters (11, 660 feet), towers above all other peaks in Northern Patagonia. This majestic, triple-summited peak is named for the “thundering” grumbles of its glaciers and seracs.

We start below the south-east face of Tronador at Pampa Linda. The base for this four-day expedition will be the remote and rustic Otto Meiling hut.

Our goal is the Pico Argentino, where views stretch past volcanoes and distant valleys all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

Ice cap traverse photo

Ice Cap Traverse

One of the world’s great adventures, this 12-day mountaineering expedition will take you through the world’s second largest non-polar ice pack.

Join our expert guides, who will show you one of the most stunning and silent landscapes in the world.

We’ll cross the Patagonian Icefield, the largest continental ice mass on the planet after Greenland, in a journey of unmatched discovery.

Fly Fishing

Patagonia is one of the world’s premiere fishing destinations. Trips can include three regions in Argentina, each consisting of multiple choices of rivers and lakes, from rainbow and brown trout at Esquel to Atlantic salmon at Los Alerces, and brook trout at Rio Pico.

Optional add-ons to Tierra del Fuego are also available.

We’ll stay in luxurious fishing lodges, enjoy fabulous food and wine and savour the Patagonian solitude.

Whitewater Paddling

Our premiere whitewater expedition is will take you across the Andes Mountains, from the height of the range in Argentina to the Pacific Coast of Chile. The little-known Manso River crosses through breathtaking landscapes and a constant series of challenging Class III and IV rapids.

We’ll camp on sandy beaches beneath the canopy of temperate rainforests, meet pioneers still living off the land, and celebrate our arrival at the Pacific with a traditional asado barbecue.

Designed for both rafters and kayakers, this is a true river-lover’s adventure!

Skiing & Snowboarding

Summer in the northern hemisphere is winter in Patagonia. For skiers and snowboarders looking for a taste of the exotic, not to mention great powder steeps, we offer these snow pilgrimages in Patagonia between July and September.
